Rachna Shah, MD
Dr. Shah earned her M.D. at Case Western Reserve University's School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio while also earning a Masters Degree in Bioethics. She trained in Internal Medicine at Evanston Northwestern Hospital and then completed her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Northwestern University in Chicago. Her Fellowship training included exposure to a wide spectrum of allergy, sinus and asthma issues along with cultivating an interest in environmental allergens.
Her passion for Allergy and Immunology developed when she saw the impact of allergies on her own sister's quality of life. She became interested in learning about the science behind why allergies occur conducting research for multiple years. Her true passion for the practice of allergy came as she interacted with patients and was able to tease out the root of their allergic disease and determine an individualized treatment plan. This individualized approach in the treatment of her patients forms the cornerstone of Dr. Shah's practice.
Dr. Shah's philosophy of care is to provide excellent evidence based medicine in the context of listening to and understanding her patients. She is committed to improving the quality of life for each of her patients and working with their primary care physicians to reach these goals. She is an adjunct clinical instructor at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. She is also affiliated with the West Suburban residency program.
Dr. Shah lives with her husband, also a physician, in the Chicagoland area where she enjoys yoga, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.
